Bernard Akoi-Jackson, artista ganense que em 2010 participou no workshop internacional de artistas organizado pela Xerem, encontra-se na Alemanha a participar numa exposição organizada pelo Halle 14 em Leipzig.

A exposição intitulada Über den Dilettantismus aborda o diletantismo, na qual os curadores procuram ilustrar as possibilidades e liberdades das abordagens do diletante, especialmente quando se trata de ganhar novos conhecimentos e experiências ou perspectivas incomuns.

The exhibition entitled Über den Dilettantismus addresses the dilettantism, in which the in which the curators attempt to illustrate the possibilities and liberties of dilettantish approaches, especially when it comes to gaining new insights and experiences or unusual perspectives.

Jorge Rocha, artista visual e produtor independente, membro da xerem, será convidado do Seminário da Pós-graduação em Artes Visuais e Performativas da Universidade do Algarve.

Esta sessão decorrerá na próxima quinta-feira, 18 de Outubro, pelas 18h, no Anfiteatro 0.4 do Complexo Pedagógico do Campus da Penha na Universidade do Algarve, em Faro.

Os temas deste seminário partirão da experiência profissional plurifacetada deste artista que abordará como temas principais: a transversalidade na arte contemporânea, as residências artísticas e as estratégias de colaboração no campo artístico.

Jorge Rocha, Visual Artist and Cultural Producer member of Xerem will be the guest of the seminar of the post-graduation in Visual and Performative Arts of the Algarve University.

This session will take place next Thursday, October 18, at 6pm, in the Amphitheater 0.4 of Campus da Penha Pedagogical Complex at the Algarve University, Faro.

The topics of this seminar will have as starting point the professional experience of this multifaceted artist who will discuss as major themes: transversality in contemporary art, the artistic residencies and collaborative strategies in the artistic field.

Arquivos Secretos é o título da exposição coletiva que decorre em Lisboa entre o dia 12 de Outubro e 30 de Novembro, contando com a participação de vários artistas portugueses, entre eles Mónica de Miranda, membro da Xerem.

Trata-se de uma iniciativa do Arquivo Municipal de Lisboa – Fotográfico e tem lugar nas suas instalações na rua da palma, incluindo ainda a realização de encontros, visitas guiadas e conversas abertas com os artistas participantes.

Arquivos Secretos (Secret Archives) is the title of the group exhibition taking place in Lisbon between October 12  and November 30, with the participation of various portuguese artists. one of them Mónica de Miranda, member of Xerem.

It is an initiative of the Municipal Archive of Lisbon – Photograph and takes place in their premises on rua da da palma, also including meetings. guided tours and open conversations with participating artists.

O artista e membro da Xerem Daniel Melim encontra-se na Madeira a participar numa residência artística em conjunto com Pedro Kogen. A iniciativa decorre nos Prazeres (Ilha da Madeira) e dará origem a uma exposição intitulada “Presença no Mundo” que inaugura no próximo dia 5 de Outubro na Galeria dos Prazeres.
Contituida essencialmente por desenhos a tinta da china, guache, grafite e instalação, a exposição centra-se na obra destes dois artistas com percursos distintos e que agora se encontram.
Daniel Melim cresceu na Madeira. Pedro Kogen em Lisboa. O trabalho de ambos liga-se a este local de modo diverso. Um pela proximidade outro pela distância.
Existe uma circulação forte entre o contexto exterior e o que é apresentado na Galeria. É uma exposição que fala sobre ciclos amplos a partir do contacto com esta realidade concreta e com a noção de existência humana.

Daniel Melim, artist and member of Xerem, is currently in Madeira to participate in an artist residency together with Pedro Kogen. The initiative is being held in Prazeres (Madeira Island) and will end with an exhibition titled “Presença no Mundo (Presence in the World)” which opens October the 5th at the Prazeres Gallery.

Conposed mainly by Chinese ink drawings, gouache, graphite and installation, the exhibition focuses on the work of these two artists and thus bringing those different backgrounds now together.

Daniel Melim grew up in Madeira. Peter Kogen in Lisbon. Their work binds to this site differently. One by proximity , the other by distance.

There is a strong movement between the exterior context and what is presented in the Gallery. It’s a show that talks about wide cycles that come from the contact with this reality and the notion of human existence.

A artista Cristina Ataíde (Portugal/Lisboa), membro da Xerem e o artista José Rufino (Brasil/Paraíba) expuseram juntos no Mosteiro de São Bento de São Paulo. A mostra, intitulada “Itinerário da Mente para a Luz (d’Aprés São Boaventura)”, teve curadoria de Fátima Lambert, e foi realizada no âmbito de uma programação que procurou estabelecer uma maior aproximação entre as culturas brasileira e portuguesa atuais.

O evento contou ainda com um workshop desenvolvido no Paço das Artes por Cristina Ataíde, bem como uma Mesa Redonda, com o organizador Carlos Eduardo Uchoa, a curadora Fátima Lambert e Cristina Ataide, que procurou alargar a reflexão sobre a exposição e sobre o próprio significado cultural do evento.

Ainda no Brasil, Cristina Ataíde participou na Feira Art Rio, integrando a Galeria Portuguesa Mário Sequeira e é umas das artistas participantes na exposição coletiva Fio Condutor que decorre na Galeria Graphos:Brasil no Rio de Janeiro.

Artist and Xerem member Cristina Ataíde (Lisbon / Portugal ), and artist José Rufino (Paraíba / Brazil) both exhibited together at the São Bento Monastery in Sao Paulo. The show, titled “Itinerário da Mente para a Luz (d’Aprés São Boaventura)”, was curated by Fatima Lambert, and was held as part of a program that sought to establish closer ties between today’s Brazilian and Portuguese cultures.

The event also featured a workshop held at Paço das Artes by Cristina Ataíde and a Roundtable with the organizer Carlos Eduardo Uchoa, the curator Fatima Lambert and CristinaAtaide, which sought to extend the reflection on the exhibition and on the meaning of the cultural event.

Remaining in Brazil, Cristina Ataíde attended the Rio Art Fair , integrating the program of the portuguese gallery Mário Sequeira and she is also one of the participants artists of the collective exhibition Fio Condutor which runs in the Graphos Gallery:Brazil in Rio de Janeiro.
