“Cadência” de Jorge Rocha no Festival Verão AzulJorge Rocha’s Cadence in the Festival Verão Azul

A acção performativa “Cadência” de Jorge Rocha será apresentada em Lagos, Portugal, integrando o Festival Verão Azul.

Naquela que será a 2ª apresentação nesta cidade, “Cadência” terá lugar no dia 1 de Dezembro e contará com a participação da atriz Neusa Dias.

O Festival Verão Azul decorre durante três dias durante os quais as ações e espectáculos serão apresentados em directo mas mediados por computadores e/ou telefones, em emissão vídeo em tempo real.
Numa edição realizada integralmente online, o Festival Verão Azul (Sorry, there’s no budget) vai ser emitido em live streaming a partir do site www.festivalveraoazul.com. Simultaneamente, será visionado no LAC – Laboratório de Actividades Criativas de Lagos, onde o público é convidado a ir ver/ouvir o trabalho dos artistas através de uma projecção de vídeo.
Existe assim e também a possibilidade de qualquer pessoa com acesso a um computador poder assistir ao Festival virtualmente em qualquer parte do Globo.
Paralelamente organiza-se também o Ciclo de Conversas ‘Money Talks – O Dinheiro Fala” moderado por Rui Catalão – discussões sobre a criação contemporânea e os seus meios de subsistência, com a participação de artistas, programadores e curadores espalhados pelo mundo, num evento aberto à participação do espectador.

The Jorge Rocha’s performative action “Cadence” will be presented in Lagos, integrating the Festival Verão Azul that will happen there.

Presented for the second time in this city, the performance will occur on the 1st of December and with the participation of actress Neusa Dias.

The Festival Verão Azul shall include three days of online live broadcast performances via computer and/or telephone.

The Verão Azul Festival (sorry there’s no budget), will broadcast online in live streaming. Simultaneously there will be a video projection of all the online performances at LAC – Creative Activities Laboratory, where the audience is invited to come follow and participate in the events.

It will also be possible for the rest of the audience worldwide to take part in this online event. The Verão Azul Festival will feature several national and international artists and performers.

Alongside the performance events, there will be a series of debates, named “Money Talks” featuring artists and curators from all over the world. An event open to the participant viewer, conversations around contemporary art and its subsistence moderated by Rui Catalão.

O Grande Inquisidor – romance colectivoO Grande Inquisidor – literary collaborative project


Joana Bertholo, membro da Xerem, participa no terceiro capítulo de “O Grande Inquisidor”, um policial negro, escrito por vários autores, que se desenrola à volta da literatura, acompanhando a vida de um escritor que mata para conseguir histórias, contos, poemas. Um assassino que acha que, da mesma maneira que é possível torturar para obter a verdade, também é possível torturar para obter ficção. Quando parte uma perna a uma das suas vítimas, o escritor ouve um final feliz, ou uma personagem a deitar-se debaixo de uma árvore, ou a chuva a bater no telhado, ou um pássaro a morrer dentro de uma gaiola. Seminário em Faro no passado dia 18Seminar in Faro on the last 18th

O artista e membro da Xerem, Jorge Rocha, esteve no passado dia 18 de Outubro em Faro a participar no Seminário da Pós-graduação em Artes Visuais e Performativas da Universidade do Algarve.

Na iniciativa que tinha como objectivo dar resposta ao plano formativo dos estudantes, aberto também ao público externo, Jorge Rocha falou sobre a sua experiência profissional plurifacetada, abordando o seu processo criativo e reflectindo sobre o seu percurso profissional enquanto artista e produtor, a importância da participação colectiva no seu processo criativo e as diversas ligações que estabelece entre o mundo da produção, da culinária, da performance e da cultura digital.

Parte integrante da sua apresentação, foi também a discussão sobre a importância das residências artísticas como oportunidade para a actualização da carreira artística, abordando o mundo criativo e a produção em rede, tendo dado como exemplo o trabalho desenvolvido pela XEREM.

No âmbito da discussão, foi notório o interesse do público estudantil pela temática das residências, com especial interesse e curiosidade sobre formas de acesso a residências artísticas e quais os modelos a seguir. Por este motivo a este auditório, composto sobretudo por estudantes de arte e artistas em inicio de carreira, foi apresentada a secção oportunidades do site da Xerem que se assume como uma plataforma informativa e de acesso a artistas que pretendam desenvolver as suas candidaturas e integrar programas de residências que se realizam por esse mundo fora.

The artist and member of Xerem, Jorge Rocha, was recently in Faro (October 18th) in order to participate in the Seminar of the Visual and Performing Arts graduate course of the University of Algarve.

In this initiative that was dedicated to the students curricular plan, but also open to the general public, Jorge Rocha had the opportunity to speak about his multifaceted experience, describe his creative process and reflect upon his career as an artist and producer. Also topics of his lecture were the importance of collective participation in its creative process and the several connections that he establishes between the world of production, culinary, performance and digital culture.

Part of the presentation was about the importance of artistic residencies as an opportunity to update of the artistic career, addressing the creative world and the networked production, taking as an example the work of XEREM.

As part of the discussion that followed, it was clear that the students were interested in the residencies subject, mainly showing curiosity about ways of attending the artist residencies and inquiring about role models to follow. For this reason the audience, comprised mainly of art students and artists in early career, was presented to the opportunities section of the Xerem website shown to them as an information platform, providing access to other artists who wish to develop their applications and integrate residency programs that take place throughout the world.

A Galeria de Arte Ambulante com o apoio da plataforma editorial Amor-Livro colocam ao teu dispôr uma selecção muito especial de livros. A Galeria, a cargo de Tiago Gandra e Daniel Melim (membro da Xerem), assume-se como uma estrutura móvel e de permanência temporária, situando-se habitualmente na área metropolitana de Lisboa, e abre as suas atividades em dias e locais anunciados com muito pouca antecedência. Até à data, as séries que apresentou e produziu foram o resultado da manipulação de objetos encontrados (“objet trouve”).
A titulo de exemplo, pinturas de alunos de escolas de Arte deitadas fora ou livros amontoados na Feira da Ladra. Pontualmente a Galeria de Arte Ambulante desenvolve também algumas relações mais estáveis, como esta com a plataforma editorial Amor-Livro.
A nova coleção já se encontra disponivel aqui e o investimento pode ser realizado à proporção das tuas possibilidades. Apressa-te, pois são todos objectos únicos! E irrepetíveis!
The Galeria de Arte Ambulante with the support of Amor-Livro publishing platform put at your disposal a very special selection of books. The Gallery, in charge of Tiago Gandra and Daniel Melim (member of Xerem), takes the form of a mobile structure and of temporary permanence, usually lies in the Lisbon metropolitan area, and open its activities in days and locations always announced with very short notice. O filme “Escrito nas Telhas” realizado por Jorge Rocha, artista e membro da Xerem, no âmbito do II Festival Ver e Fazer Filmes que decorreu na cidade Brasileira de Cataguases em 2010 será apresentado em Guimarães. A apresentação integra a mostra dos documentários realizados pelo Festival, cuja 3ª edição se realiza em Guimarães integrando a programação da Capital Europeia da Cultura.
