Rigo 23 e Daniel Melim, como parte integrante das festas da Ribeira Seca (Machico- ilha da Madeira) convidaram outros artistas para darem continuidade aos murais iniciados no ano passado. Este ano foram os artistas António Alves (de Lisboa, ativista social e muralista desde o 25 de Abril) e a dupla Cristiana Sousa e Hugo Brazão (madeirenses). Os murais bebem da riqueza cultural, histórica e combativa da comunidade liderada pelo Padre Martins Junior.
Para o ano, Rigo 23 e Daniel Melim continuarão a dinamizar esta galeria ao ar livre que conta já com 9 murais de grandes dimensões.
Rigo 23 and Daniel Melim as part of celebrations of Ribeira Seca (Funchal, Madeira) invited other artists to give continuity to the murals started last year. This year there were artists António Alves (Lisbon, social activist and muralist since April 25) and the artist duo Cristiana Sousa and Hugo Brazão (Madeira). The murals draw on the richness of culture, history and combative community led by Father Martins Junior.
For the next year, Rigo 23 and Daniel Melim continue to energize this outdoor gallery which already has nine large murals.

A acção performativa Cozinhando na Paisagem de Jorge Rocha realiza-se no próximo dia 31 de Agosto às 18h30 no Castelo de Aljezur com a participação da historiadora Natércia Magalhães e da arqueóloga Silvina Silvério e conta com o apoio da Direção Regional de Cultura do Algarve.
Cozinhando na paisagem integra-se no projeto www.PALATO.org e tem vindo a desenvolver-se nos monumentos do Algarve. A iniciativa explora o cruzamento entre arte, gastronomia e património, focando a sua acção nas gastronomias associadas a cada sítio histórico. Um menu estipulado a partir das referências encontradas nas entrelinhas da arqueologia, é o ponto de partida para uma viagem onde também se contempla a paisagem e se analisa o território envolvente.
Em cada local é montada uma infraestrutura improvisada onde o artista em conjunto com investigadores, desenvolve uma acção performativa, em formato Talk Show, cozinhando ao vivo e transmitindo em directo na Internet, com os públicos físicos e virtuais em sinestesia.
Depois da se ter realizado nos Monumentos Megalíticos de Alcalar, na Villa Romana de Milreu e nas Murallhas de Lagos, a acção performativa realiza-se agora no Castelo de Aljezur com a participação da historiadora Natércia Magalhães e da arqueóloga Silvina Silvério, antecedida por uma visita orientada ao Castelo de Aljezur por Rui Parreira
Partindo da gastronomia iremos abordar a ocupação islâmica no Castelo de Aljezur, cronologicamente balizada entre o século VIII e a primeira metade do XIII, abordando entre outros aspectos as relações diretas com as fases das escavações arqueológicas onde foram descobertos silos escavados, no solo, que permitem inferir a função de armazenamento de alimentos associada a esta época.
O PALATO (www.palato.org) foca-se no cruzamento entre arte, gastronomia e património e emergindo de um espaço essencialmente virtual, potencia a divulgação e criação artística e científica.

Jorge Rocha’s performative action Cooking in the landscape takes place on the next August 31 at 6.30 pm in the Aljezur Castle with the participation of historian Natércia Magalhães and archaeologist Silvina Silvério with support of Direcção Regional de Cultura do Algarve (Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve).
Cooking in the landscape is part of the project www.PALATO.org and has been taking place in several Algarve Monuments. The initiative explores the relations between art, gastronomy and heritage, focusing on the gastronomies associated with each historical site.
A menu made from references found in between the lines of archeology is the starting point for a journey which also includes contemplate the landscape and analyzing the surrounding territory.
In each historical site, a makeshift infrastructure is set up where the artist together with the monument researchers, leads a performative action in a Talk Show format, cooking all together and live broadcasting it on Internet, gathering the virtual and physical public.
After having performed at Alcalar Megalithic Monuments, Milreu Roman Villa and at Lagos City Walls, the project will now take place in Aljezur Castle, with the participation of historian Natércia Magalhães and archaeologist Silvina Silvério, being preceded by a guided tour by the archaeologist Rui Parreira.
Starting from the gastronomy we will address the Islamic occupation in Aljezur Castle, buoyed chronologically between the eighth century and the first half of XIII.
Palato (www.palato.org) focuses on the intersection between art, gastronomy and heritage. Emerging essentially from a virtual space, it enhances the artistic and cientific promotion and creative process.

A acção performativa Cozinhando na Paisagem de Jorge Rocha realiza-se no próximo dia 30 de Julho às 19h nas Muralhas de Lagos com a participação do historiador Rui Loureiro e do arqueólogo Rui Parreira.
Cozinhando na paisagem integra-se no projeto www.PALATO.org e desde Abril que se vem desenvolvendo nos monumentos do Algarve. Trata-se de uma iniciativa que explora as relações entre arte, gastronomia e património através do cruzamento de informação recolhida a partir das particularidades de cada sítio histórico, nomeadamente as relações gastronómicas que dai podemos subtrair.
Partindo de um menu estipulado a partir das referências encontradas nas entrelinhas da arqueologia e tendo em conta as características únicas de cada local intui-se valorizar factores paisagísticos e patrimoniais e potenciar a criação artística.
Em cada local é montada uma infraestrutura improvisada onde o artista em conjunto com investigadores, desenvolve uma acção performativa, em formato Talk Show, onde se cozinha ao vivo e transmitindo em directo na Internet, colocando os públicos físicos e virtuais em sinestesia.
Depois da se ter realizado nos Monumentos Megalíticos de Alcalar e na Villa Romana de Milreu, a acção performativa terá lugar nas Muralhas de Lagos (no Parque da Cidade), com a participação do historiador Rui Loureiro e do arqueólogo Rui Parreira, sendo antecedida por uma visita guiada às Muralhas de Lagos pelo Arqueólogo Rui Parreira.
As Muralhas de Lagos é uma fortificação quinhentista, erguida como baluarte costeiro, que confirma a importância das empresas marítimas de Lagos na época áurea dos Descobrimentos, impregnando até hoje a imagem da cidade e a sua organização urbanística.

Cooking in the landscape is part of the project www.PALATO.org that since April has been taking place in several Monuments in Algarve. It is an initiative that explores the relations between art, gastronomy and heritage through the intersection of information collected from the particularities of each historical site.
Starting from a menu made from references found in between the lines of archeology and reflecting on the unique characteristics of each site, this project addresses landscap and heritage issues based on each place.

The Lagos City Walls is a fifteenth-century fortress, built as a coastal bulwark, which confirms the importance of maritime companies in Lagos during the Discoveries epoch, influencing untill today the image of the city and its urban organization.
