A acção performativa Cozinhando na Paisagem de Jorge Rocha realiza-se no próximo dia 30 de Julho às 19h nas Muralhas de Lagos com a participação do historiador Rui Loureiro e do arqueólogo Rui Parreira.
Cozinhando na paisagem integra-se no projeto www.PALATO.org e desde Abril que se vem desenvolvendo nos monumentos do Algarve. Trata-se de uma iniciativa que explora as relações entre arte, gastronomia e património através do cruzamento de informação recolhida a partir das particularidades de cada sítio histórico, nomeadamente as relações gastronómicas que dai podemos subtrair.
Partindo de um menu estipulado a partir das referências encontradas nas entrelinhas da arqueologia e tendo em conta as características únicas de cada local intui-se valorizar factores paisagísticos e patrimoniais e potenciar a criação artística.
Em cada local é montada uma infraestrutura improvisada onde o artista em conjunto com investigadores, desenvolve uma acção performativa, em formato Talk Show, onde se cozinha ao vivo e transmitindo em directo na Internet, colocando os públicos físicos e virtuais em sinestesia.
Depois da se ter realizado nos Monumentos Megalíticos de Alcalar e na Villa Romana de Milreu, a acção performativa terá lugar nas Muralhas de Lagos (no Parque da Cidade), com a participação do historiador Rui Loureiro e do arqueólogo Rui Parreira, sendo antecedida por uma visita guiada às Muralhas de Lagos pelo Arqueólogo Rui Parreira.
As Muralhas de Lagos é uma fortificação quinhentista, erguida como baluarte costeiro, que confirma a importância das empresas marítimas de Lagos na época áurea dos Descobrimentos, impregnando até hoje a imagem da cidade e a sua organização urbanística.
O PALATO (www.palato.org) foca-se no cruzamento entre arte, gastronomia e património e emergindo de um espaço essencialmente virtual, potencia a divulgação e criação artística e científica.

Jorge Rocha’s performative action Cooking in the landscape takes place on the next July 30 at 7pm in the Lagos City Walls with the participation of historian Rui Loureiro and archaeologist Rui Parreira.
Cooking in the landscape is part of the project www.PALATO.org that since April has been taking place in several Monuments in Algarve. It is an initiative that explores the relations between art, gastronomy and heritage through the intersection of information collected from the particularities of each historical site.
Starting from a menu made from references found in between the lines of archeology and reflecting on the unique characteristics of each site, this project addresses landscap and heritage issues based on each place.
In each historical site, a makeshift infrastructure is set up where the artist together with the monument researchers, leads a performative in a Talk Show format, cooking all together and live broadcasting it on Internet, gathering the virtual and physical public.
After having performed at Alcalar Megalithic Monuments and at Milreu Roman Villa, the project will now take place in Lagos City Walls ), with the participation of historian Rui Loureiro and archaeologist Rui Parreira, being preceded by a guided tourto the city walls by the archaeologist Rui Parreira.
The Lagos City Walls is a fifteenth-century fortress, built as a coastal bulwark, which confirms the importance of maritime companies in Lagos during the Discoveries epoch, influencing untill today the image of the city and its urban organization.
Palato (www.palato.org) focuses on the intersection between art, gastronomy and heritage. Emerging essentially from a virtual space, it enhances the artistic and cientific promotion and creative process.
