A acção performativa Cozinhando na Paisagem de Jorge Rocha realiza-se no próximo dia 15 de Junho às 18h na Villa Romana de Milreu com a participação dos arqueólogos João Pedro Bernardes e Rui Parreira.
Cozinhando na paisagem integra-se no projeto www.PALATO.org e consiste numa série de ações performativas de Jorge Rocha realizadas em monumentos onde a envolvência do seu território se traduz na recolha de informação sobre a gastronomia de época, fazendo um cruzamento com os hábitos alimentares da sociedade contemporânea.
Partindo de um menu estipulado a partir das referências encontradas nas entrelinhas da arqueologia e tendo em conta as características únicas de cada local intui-se valorizar factores paisagísticos e patrimoniais.
Em cada sítio histórico, é montada uma infraestrutura improvisada onde o artista em conjunto com investigadores, desenvolve uma acção performativa em formato Talk Show onde se cozinha ao vivo, transmitindo em directo na Internet e colocando os públicos físicos e virtuais em sinestesia.
Depois da se ter realizado nos Monumentos Megalíticos de Alcalar, a acção performativa terá agora lugar na Villa Romana de Milreu com a participação especial dos arqueólogos João Pedro Bernardes e Rui Parreira.
“Localizada a poente da aldeia histórica de Estoi, a 8km de Faro, a Villa Romana de Milreu revela uma ocupação continuada desde o séculoI e até ao século XI. O conhecimento da sua história revela-nos que terá sido habitada por famílias de elevado estatuto social e político, às quais eram proporcionadas as necessidades não só de um quotidiano rural, como também de grande vivência lúdica.”
Cozinhando na Paisagem será antecedido por uma Visita Encenada, protagonizada pelos estagiários do curso profissional Técnico de Artes do Espectáculo – Interpretação da Escola Secundária Pinheiro e Rosa, orientada pela Prof.ª Ana Cristina Oliveira, no âmbito de um Acordo de Colaboração entre a Direção Regional de Cultura do Algarve e aquela entidade.
O PALATO (www.palato.org) foca-se no cruzamento entre arte, gastronomia e património e emergindo de um espaço essencialmente virtual, potencia a divulgação e criação artística e científica.

Jorge Rocha’s performative action Cooking in the landscape takes place on the next 15th June at 6pm in the Milreu Roman Villa with the participation of archaeologists João Pedro Bernardes and Rui Parreira.
Cooking in the landscape is part of the project www.PALATO.org and consists of a series of Jorge Rocha’s performative actions, performed in monuments where the involvement of its territory is reflected in collecting information about gastronomy of an epoch and crossing it with the contemporary food habits.
Starting from a menu made from references found in between the lines of archeology and reflecting on the unique characteristics of each site, this project addresses landscap and heritage issues based on each place.
In each historical site, a makeshift infrastructure is set up where the artist together with the monument researchers, leads a performative in a Talk Show format, cooking and live broadcasting on Internet, gathering the virtual and physical public.
After have been performed in Alcalar Megalithic Monuments, the performative action will now take place in Milreu Roman Villa with the special participation of archaeologists João Pedro Bernardes and Rui Parreira.
“Located west of the historic village of Estoi, 8km from Faro, Milreu Roman Villa reveals a continued occupation from the 1st century until 11th century. The knowledge of their history shows us that have been inhabited by families of high social and political status, to which were provided the needs not only of an rural quotidian, as well as a great entertaining experience. ”
Cooking in the landscape will be preceded by a Staged Tour, carried by the trainees of the Performing Arts – Interpretation Course of Pinheiro Chagas School, guided by Prof. Ana Cristina Oliveira, within a Collaboration Agreement between the Algarve Regional Directorate of Culture and that entity.
Palato (www.palato.org) focuses on the intersection between art, gastronomy and heritage and emerging essentially from a virtual space, it enhances the artistic and cientific promotion and creative process.

No passado dia 15 de Junho, a propósito do lançamento das candidaturas ao Workshop Internacional de Artistas | Triangle Network, intitulado OFFLINE – Entre Trânsitos e Viagens, teve lugar uma conversa entre artistas sobre o papel e a importância das residências artísticas para a prática de arte contemporânea. O curador independente Carlos Alcobia desafiou a Carla Cabanas, a Cristina Ataíde e o Daniel Melim para partilharem as suas experiências enquanto participantes mas edições anteriores deste Workshop. Esta iniciativa teve lugar na Carpe Diem Arte e Pesquisa.
