A Anna Lindh é uma fundação que tem por objetivo juntar pessoas de toda a região do Mediterrâneo, para promover o respeito mútuo entre culturas, tendo criado uma rede que tem hoje mais de 3.000 organizações da sociedade civil.
Atualmente com sede em Alexandria, no Egipto, a Anna Lindh foi criada em 2005 pelos governos da parceria Euro-Mediterrânica (Euromed), num acordo político estabelecido em 1995 entre a União Europeia e a Argélia, Marrocos, Tunísia, Egipto, Jordânia, Líbano, Palestina, Israel, Síria e Turquia.
A atribuição do seu nome, homenageia Anna Lindh, a ministra dos Negócios Estrangeiros Sueca que foi assassinada em 2003, tendo o nome sido proposto pelo Egipto numa reunião que decorreu a 25 de Setembro de 2003.
A Xerem é uma organização independente que acredita no trabalho em rede e vê esta integração na rede ALF como um caminho para a construção de novas oportunidades, proporcionando criar iniciativas com outros parceiros, nomeadamente do mediterrâneo, desenvolvendo atividades que possam propor o diálogo, intercâmbio e a mobilidade de artistas dentro desse espaço geográfico e cultural.
The goal of Anna Lindh Foundation is to bring people together from across the Mediterranean to improve mutual respect between cultures and it has created a network that today has more than 3.000 civil society organizations.
Currently based in Egypt (headquarters are in Alexandria), Anna Lindh Foundation was set up in 2005 by the governments of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership (Euromed), a political agreement made in 1995 between the European Union and Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Israel, Syria and Turkey.
It is named in honour of Anna Lindh, the Swedish Foreign Minister who was murdered in 2003. The name was put forward by Egypt at a meeting held at the 25th of September 2003.
Xerem is an independent organization who believe in networking and sees this integration in the ALF as a way to build new opportunities, providing the creation of initiatives with partners, including the Mediterranean, developing activities that can propose dialogue, exchange and mobility of artists inside that cultural geography.
