FEMALE ROUTE
SIERRA Art Center launches the call for the construction of a route of interventions in natural space, particularly on the farm Los Veneros where it is located SIERRA, designed to be performed by five women artists and artistic groups composed mostly by women.
Since its opening in July 2010, one of the fundamental objectives of SIERRA has been to promote the construction of spaces of visibility, action and thinking about contemporary art proposals and their relationship with nature and environment of the Huelva mountains population which is located at both the cultural, social, educational or anthropological.
These spaces have been shaped through multiple activities such as laboratories specialized in middle and practical nature, and nature art workshops for adults and children, workshops and conferences, production of audio and audiovisual pieces, actions in space and natural … interventions in the environment of the farm the springs, with over 70 acres of free land for their realization.

With the construction of Route FEMALE (whose realization is expected in September 2011 to March 2012), the SIERRA center plays a crucial part especially in a mainstreaming women in centrifugal and centripetal character, return, that part of the involvement in the social fabric and human women, and the concept of femininity in the countryside, nearby towns for enhancement through art and visions of other women artists here. A loop back to them, the women of the mountains, in the process of their integration in the various proposals.
The call is open to women artists of any age, nationality or origin.
