A Xerem faz parte da Triangle Network.
Triangle Network é uma rede de artistas e de organizações artísticas, que está em desenvolvimento desde 1982 e encontra-se actualmente implementada em mais de 30 países. Dispondo de um programa de workshops-residências internacionais e com manifestações públicas tais como Open Days e exposições, pretende iniciar a troca de ideias através da prática: uma aproximação hands-on que se desenvolve a partir do diálogo e num processo criativo aberto e crítico.
Com as suas actividades, a Triangle desenvolveu uma rede original, receptora de projectos de intercâmbio que conecta artistas e locais com os seus pares em países vizinhos e países mais longínquos espalhados por todo o mundo. Nas últimas duas décadas, os colaboradores da rede trabalharam com mais de 4.000 artistas. Em África, mais de mil artistas participaram nos workshops e residências dentro do continente ou noutras partes do mundo. Tais programas de intercâmbio criaram um enorme impacto nas suas carreiras, ajudando-os a desenvolver um trabalho inovador e experimental dentro e fora do continente, projectando-os nacional e internacionalmente.
As organizações que integram a Triangle Network são todas estruturas independentes e na sua maioria geridas por artistas. A sua relativa pequena escala e a proximidade pessoal mantêm-nas flexíveis. O papel da organização Triangle é assegurar a sustentação da rede suportando os seus vários colaboradores, mantendo e reforçando as suas ligações, assegurando que há uma comunicação e que o projecto conduz à criação de oportunidades inovadoras para artistas e público. A Triangle apoia o desenvolvimento dos projectos e de novas parcerias que beneficiem e estendam a rede com as suas actividades.

Xerem is part of the Triangle Network
Triangle Network is a network of artists, artists’ groups and arts organisations, which has been growing since 1982 and is currently present in more then 30 countries. Through a programme of international residencies and workshops, together with public manifestations such as open days, exhibitions and a number of outreach activities, Triangle initiates the exchange of ideas through practice: a hands-on approach that relies on dialogue, process and openness.
Through its activities it has developed a unique web of exchange projects that connects local artists with their peers in neighbouring countries as well as further afield. In the last two decades, network partners have worked with over 4,000 artists. In Africa alone, more than a thousand artists have been to workshops and residencies within the continent or other parts of the world. Such exchange programmes have made a huge impact on artists’ careers, helping them to develop innovative and experimental work and raising their profile nationally and internationally.
Organisations that are part of Triangle are all independent structures and are mostly run by artists. Their relative small scale and personal approach keeps them flexible and un-bureaucratic. What keeps them linked to Triangle is a belief that local development comes from staying relevant to their own context and at the same time creating exchanges with peers in other parts of the world. The role of Triangle is to ensure the sustainability of the network by supporting its various partners, maintaining and strengthening network links, fundraising for exchange projects across the various partners and ensuring that communication between them remains open and leads to the creation of new opportunities for artists and audiences. Triangle is also involved in supporting the development of new projects and partnerships that benefit and extend the network through their activities.
