Na sequência de orientações superiores, a Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia informa que abrirá em 2012 os seguintes concursos, abrangendo todos os domínios científicos:

1. PROJECTOS

Concursos abertos sequencialmente em quatro áreas científicas:

a) Ciências da Vida e da Saúde, com candidaturas abertas entre 15 de Fevereiro e 15 de Março de 2012

b) Ciências Exactas e da Engenharia, com candidaturas abertas entre 1 de Março e 29 de Março de 2012

c) Ciências Naturais e do Ambiente, com candidaturas abertas entre 21 de Março e 19 de Abril de 2012

d) Ciências Sociais e Humanidades, com candidaturas abertas entre 3 de Abril e 3 de Maio de 2012

Os resultados dos concursos serão anunciados no segundo semestre de 2012 por forma a possibilitar o início dos projectos em Janeiro de 2013

2. CONTRATOS FCT PARA INVESTIGADORES DOUTORADOS. CONCURSO NACIONAL

Este concurso permitirá a investigadores doutorados concorrerem a um contrato de trabalho por 5 anos, financiado pela FCT. A selecção, a nível nacional, basear-se-á no mérito do candidato e na qualidade do seu programa científico.

As candidaturas estarão abertas entre 6 de Março e 3 de Abril de 2012. Os resultados serão anunciados no segundo semestre de 2012 por forma a possibilitar o início dos contratos a partir de Outubro de 2012.

3. FORMAÇÃO AVANÇADA

Concurso para atribuição de Bolsas de Doutoramento e Pós-Doutoramento.

Candidaturas abertas entre 2 de Maio e 28 de Junho de 2012.

Os respectivos regulamentos e editais de todos os concursos serão publicados com um antecedência mínima de duas semanas em relação à data de início das candidaturas.

Following higher instructions, the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia wishes to inform that the following calls in all scientific domains will be offered in 2012:

1. PROJECTS

Calls open sequencially in four scientific areas:

a) Life and Health Sciences, open between 15th February and 15th March 2012

b) Exact and Engineering Sciences, open between 1st February and 29th March 2012

c) Natural and Environmental Sciences, open between 21st March and 19th April 2012

d) Social Sciences and Humanities, , open between 3rd April and 3rd May 2012

The outcome of the calls will be available during the second semester of 2012 so that projects can start in January 2013.

2. CONTRACTS FCT FOR RESEARCHERS. NATIONAL CALL

This call will allow PhD level researchers to apply for a 5-year supported by FCT. The selection process will evaluate the merit of the candidate and the quality of the scientific program.

The call will be open between 6th March and 3rd April 2012. The outcome of the cal will be available during the second semester of 2012 so as to allow contracts to initiate from October 2012.

3. FELLOWSHIPS

Calls for «Bolsas de Doutoramento e Pós-Doutoramento» will be open between 2nd May and 28th June 2012.

The «regulamentos» and «editais» of all calls will be published at least two weeks prior to the starting date of applications.

Concurso Circuito Aberto de Arte Pública de ParedesConcurso Circuito Aberto de Arte Pública de Paredes

O Circuito Aberto de Arte Pública de Paredes é um projeto de implantação de uma coleção de obras de arte contemporânea na cidade.

Estender-se-á ao longo da zona urbana consolidada do território, utilizando o património, a paisagem longínqua ou as ruas comerciais como salas de um museu aberto, estimulando o prazer de ver, a experiência da arte e a relação de proximidade artista-observador-espectador. Será composto por 22 obras de arte: 14 obras fixas a serem desenvolvidas por criadores nacionais e internacionais, convidados e selecionados através de concurso; e 8 obras efémeras a serem criadas por artistas em relação com as comunidades. Alberto Carneiro, Rui Chafes, José Pedro Croft, Ângela Ferreira, Fernanda Fragateiro, Rita McBride e Didier Fiuza Faustino são alguns dos reconhecidos artistas que vão integrar esta circuito.
Este é um projeto de valorização e qualificação do espaço público da cidade, inscrevendo a prática artística contemporânea nos usos sociais da cultura na atualidade.

Culburb project: open call for entriesCulburb project: open call for entries

Culburb are inviting artists and architects, as well as other individuals and collectives, to join the Culburb project. Six locations in Central Europe, representing different forms of suburbia, have been chosen as places for action. In each locality, five acupunctures will be realised. By acupuncture treatment, we understand actions which have long-term impact created with minimal means. Actions may be physical or immaterial, temporary or permanent and should be addressed to local residents.

To mark the beginning of 2012, a new year of practice and the last year in the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar, The Good Hatchery invites applications from visual artists to be part of Bravo Serotonin. The project will see a number of south American dug out canoes being carved from storm felled trees left in north Offaly in the wake of Hurricane Katia. Participants will be supplied with an axe, a portion of a tree, access to a sharpening wheel, workshop space, studio space and accommodation. Selected artists and members of The Good Hatchery will work in teams and individually. Bravo Serotonin ends with a canoe voyage along the Grand canal to a major Irish city. Please note that this project takes place in January and as such involves challenging conditions.

Thupelo workshops are artists led and are initiated in response to a need for interaction between artists. This workshop will include 20 artists from around the world; all with experience in their various practices and able to experiment, exchange ideas and expand their practices.

We invite established visual artists and critics who would like to extend their skills, exchange ideas and techniques to apply to work in this dynamic, stimulating two week workshop where discussion and interaction between artists and critics will be encouraged and debated.

Artists using any medium are invited to apply.
